Gifts in Action - John R. Hopkins

MEET JOHN HOPKINS

Hopkins earned a graduate degree in literature from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 1976. He then worked as a financial analyst for American Airlines, a position that helped him realize the value of consistency.

WHY HE GAVE

“It is important to have income you can depend on,” said Hopkins. “Consistency allows you to plan for the peaks and valleys that can occur in your finances. I believe in the power of compounding value.”

HOW HE GAVE

Because of this philosophy, Hopkins makes a point of donating to the University of Illinois at Springfield annually. He always gives as much as he can afford because he believes that a lot of a little bit helps.
